What a great Xday Europe 2000. I picked my friend Emillio from the
Hamburg airport and greeted him with two very nice dark German beers
(Ditmarscher) as he walked through the arrival area of the airport. We
cracked'em open and the Xday festivities started. We drove to Kiel and
met up with the infamous Doktor Notaw who had driven down from Denmark
and we proceeded over to the Hotel Astor , to the Astro Bar, on the
10th floor . We walked into the bar and sat down in the lounge and a
guy at the bar, who was sitting all alone, asked us to join him and
offered to buy us a round of drinks. We were hanging ten on the luck
plane.
The guy looked like something out of a cheesy Vegas lounge. With the
frank Sinatra playing in the bar we felt like we were in one. The half
drunken gentleman was about 55 and was clad in a white polyester short
sleeve shirt with a navy blue polyester tie, brown polyester slacks
with large, hoot owl, looking smoky sunglasses. He was dressed like a
police detective from a 70's cop show. When he took his cigar out of
his mouth and said, "hello my name is Doctor Lucifero/oo, we looked around
at each other and I thought to myself, "jackpoto/oo. He was a really
drunk, but very nice, Swedish seaman who obviously been at sea for a
LONG time, but he had just made new friends and his new friends,
unwitting to him were SubGenius ministers.
After buying us the beers he offered, quite hospitably, to buy a bottle
of champagne. We were riding 100 ft. tidal waves of slack on the
luck plane at this point. After the champagne and numerous other drinks
we walked out of the Aster Bar, LIT, and hadn't paid ANYTHING for the
DM 200.00 we had drank, praise Otis. After hitting a local German micro
brewery we had to take Doctor Notaw home because he was worshiping the
porcelain god on the streets of Kiel like a true Otisite. We took this
opportunity to get a good nights sleep.
The next day we woke up, went over and set up the hall for the show.
What a great show indeed. Government Crime was great and the guys were
nice enough to let us use their sound system when the sound system that
we rented didn't work right. Praise Bob and Government Crime. After
their performance the Rev. and now Saint Protogoth came on as DJ. He
played techno he'd brought with him from the Netherlands and in the
middle of his show he started playing background sounds and the
Subgenius show started.
Rev. Jitse (Erasmos Van Red Light District) was kind enough to MC and
did a blistering rant of his own. Rev. Doghunt came on and talked about
the Subgenius wanting "only your moneyo/oo. At this point there were MANY
people from the German Progress Political Party who were overcome by
the slackening awe of Bob and went into a SubGenius induced frenzy of
praise and worship. Then it was PopeBlack's turn doing it in PopeBlack
style, passing out beers for Bob from the case of beer I had on my
shoulder. The Germans had truly found slack at this point. All of this
was taken off on video by equipment we used from one of the local
television stations and the "Xday Europe 2000o/oo video will be out soon
It will also be televised.
After the party, at about 8:00am in the morning we all crashed out in
an alcoholic daze on anything slightly available to sleep on. Beds,
couches, the stage, the floor in puddles of beer. There were bodies
everywhere. It looked like an atomic, alcohol bomb had hit the place.
To bad Sterno didn't make it.
The next night we went over to the Tanzediele. The small club where the
next show was to be shown. I walked in the door and the first thing the
owner said to me was that the Bobdamn amplifier to the sound system was
blown and if we wanted to have a show we'd have to find one. Rev. now
Saint Protogoth to the rescue. He had on in his care, along with the
matching speakers. After about two hours of St. Protogoth techno
inferno, we started in with our preaching and we "drank Bob's pisso/oo.
Even the reporter from the news paper drank some.
The boat on Monday was cancelled, but Rev. Jitse had a BRILLIANT idea.
He said, "PopeBlack. If I buy you a train ticket to Amsterdam will you
come down and do the last radio show before the world is destroyed on
Radio 100 and take the party down thereo/oo. I would be a fool to say no.
So we are going to pack, get the train in the morning and do the last
radio show on Radio 100 in Amsterdam the morning of, July the 5th ,
from 4 until 7am, when we get ruptured. You can listen to the show from
