That superhero crap is BULLSHIT. Some jerk suddenly gets superhuman
powers and goes zipping around town in his longjohns HELPING PEOPLE
and making wisecracks while beating up hoodlums. Some other jerk gets
suddenly gets superhuman powers and avails himself of the opportunity
to fulfill his lifelong dream of dressing in armor or a cape and
committing SPECTACULAR CRIMES so he can taunt the police over their
failure to prevent him from doing the above. Then guess what! They
get together and FIGHT AND FIGHT AND FIGHT IN MIDAIR and stuff blows
up and other stuff falls over and god help you if you happen to have a
pushcart full of oranges or a truckload of chickens in little cages or
a WEDDING CAKE. And who finally wins the big fight - the smart mean
guy or the lovable goof who just wants to be nice? The only people
over the age of puberty this idiotic crap could appeal to are ones who
truly know deep inside the only way they could ever accomplish
anything is BY MAGIC. LOSERS, FAILURES, DOPES AND GEEKS.

Verifiable. Repeatable in lab experiments. Irrefutable. And logical. A
veritable WALL of indisputable facts. Knowledge AND meaning.

That rock band was right that one time, even though they were so stupid
(so it must have been an accident): "Us and all our friends are so
fucked up."

I must be REALLY stupid these days, to be so easily satisfied.

Actually, upon further consideration, dipstick may have a point. From a
Yahoo! article about the recent success of super-hero movies:

"Four such Marvel-based films are due out next year alone, starting with
"Daredevil" in January from 20th Century Fox. An "X-Men" sequel, "X2," from
Fox comes next, in May 2003, followed by "The Hulk" in June 2003 from
Universal Pictures and "Punisher," about an ex-cop vigilante, two months
later from Artisan Entertainment (news - external web site).

Marvel also has its underwater hero "Sub-Mariner" under development at
Universal, "The Fantastic Four" at Fox, the mystical "Dr. Strange" at
Dimension Films and "Ghost Rider" at Columbia, a unit of Sony Corp (news -

Warner Bros., which owns rival D.C. Comics, has a flurry of films in the
works from its own staple of superheroes -- two Batman movies, a new

That's 14 super-hero movies in development, not counting what are really
super-hero movies but don't star classic super-heroes (like the Matrix
sequels and so forth.) If the Hollywood branch of the Con thinks that they
can sell this much super-heroing to the Pinks, it may be time to re-evaluate
the traditional weirdo love of super-heroes.

Ah, fuck it. We were just sixty years ahead of our time, that's all. They
were bound to catch up sooner or later.

According to the current Wolvie history, he's been alive since the early
