I hereby offer to start the very first SubG pool. The
prize will be a
renewal membership and, to make it even more sweet,
after the Rupsture,
I'll trade seats with the winner if my seat turns out
to be better!
That's quite a tangible reward these days where facts
are hard to hold
on to.
My pool, which ends the day it happens, involves predicting
the date
when the first journalist will be charged with aiding
and abetting the
Enemy by broadcasting a breaking news event before the
PTB has had a
chance to sanitize it. The journalist actually has
to be imprisoned.
You know what I mean here. Last Monday this Pink Country
was, at least
on the outside, a free society. Though it was necessary,
it only took
about an hour for our precious freedom to travel interstate
without
restrictions to be withdrawn from us. Yes, that day
it was NECESSARY.
But as this whole sorry ass saga continues, they're
going to hide behind
National Security and do these things routinely out
of CONVENIENCE!
One by one the Constitutional privileges will fall by
the wayside in the
name of some bogeyman allegedly lurking around some
corner. I figure
the First Amendment (like WTC #7) will soon be the next
tower of freedom
to collapse. In times of war, of course, this is totally
unavoidable,
and I regrettably submit. But, I sure would like to
remember the day
and hour they first fell as clearly as the events of
last Tuesday.
So, on that note, I predict the first newsman to be
jailed will occur on
September 23rd, 2001. Remember, that poor soul won't
be able to hire
Johnny Cochran and whine all the way to the Supreme
Court. Not in their
lifetime, anyhow. If I was a newsman now, I'd be out
stocking up on
"soap on a rope", believe me.
Hell, Carnivore is probably reporting this post to the
CIA already, and
they're probably [CENSORED]

It's too late. They already jailed a journalist about
a month ago, before
they even had an excuse. A woman interviewed a guy
in jail, then refused to
give up her notes to the cops, claiming it wasn't HER
job to find their
evidence for them (not to mention the guy was already
in prison!).

Don't count on it. The constitution clearly states
***********************
******* and if the ***************** ever tried to *************
they wouldn't
**************** even if ***********************************.
****************
isn't just a ***************** but it is **********************.
I
can't believe
you really think ***************************.

A woman told me today that " this is exactly why
we need more gun control"
When I pointed out that they had used knifes she just
waved her hands and
said "she doubted that ,they must have had guns'
they'(presumably the
newscasters i didn't ask who' they 'were) had covered
it up because they
didn't want to anger the NRA" I recon that is why
she was telling me, my
pickup has a nra sticker.
