For months* I, Stang whittled away in my Sanctum at the ancient, beloved 1983 "BAD DOKTORS" audio tape, modernizing the sound for use as clips on the Hour of Slack radio show. It has now been turned BACK into an album, vastly improved. In the old days, to rearrange audio clips one had to physically chop up 1/4-inch reel to reel tape, spool it in little bins, and re-splice it all back together in its new arrangement. You know how we media barragists love our little match-cuts of disparate, oddly synchronistic but otherwise unrelated clips. Doing that sort of thing is much easier when one can regard one's multitudinous clips as a stack of separate files, all visible and labeled, easy to rearrange for a more seemly flow. Improving, or deliberately tearing up, the sound of certain clips, using trippy sound filters, is another option we didn't have in past years, before "Bob's" church became the juggernaut it is today.
This famous old school album has been further gussied up in a lovely jewel case with art by Heart Ignition (after Hal Robins) and Fernandinande LeMur.
