Wisteria Pond Microlife
May "2012" Photos by Rev. Ivan Stang, Princess Wei 'R.' Doe It took a while to find even the life-forms depicted here. Most of this gallery is comprised of microphotos of sand. Individual grains look somewhat psychedelic under extreme magnification. We DID later find more microbes, but only of the most innocuous kind. Despite rumor-mill accusations, the swimming-pond at Wisteria does not in fact stink. It doesn't smell like city water, but it doesn't smell stagnant in the least. We could present movies of the pond's microlife, but we're afraid that doing so would permanently gross out the ignorant, the superstitious, and most of all the "TV Girls" as my (Stang's) own daughter described herself. "I'm not JUST a city girl," she said in all honesty on one family camp-out. "I'm a TV GIRL." We understand that many young people today have evolved beyond that to become not "TV Girls," but "iPhone Girls." | |||
