I remember it well that season in hell
It was just about six years ago
It was 4PM in a Holiday Inn
Albuquerque New Mexico
Snuff from a box and Scotch on the rocks
And what else I just don't know
I was trying to get back and buy me some slack
But, I needed somebody to show me the way

I searched the world for my personal savior
I found him nowhere, I should have looked there first

Well I burned all my bridges and hitched up my britches
Determined to scour the nation
I letting you know that I looked high and low
For personal soul salvation
In church lodge and club, cathedral and pub
In communes with foul irrigation
I was plumb out of luck then it dawned on me Buck
New York was my destination
In the rush hour mobs I met this man Dobbs
On the shuttle to Grand Central Station
He said "Follow me and I'll set you free
For only a small donation!"
I said yes I will, just send me the bill
My last hope has been answered

I searched the world for my personal savior
I found him nowhere, I should have looked there first

Well that's the way it was, is, and will be
For all eternia
For a couple of pills and a mountain of bills
And your landlords trying to burn ya
Just remember that "Bob" so loved the world
That he suffered a massive hernia
And on the third day he rose from the bed
To save us from normal mania

So now I'm lost in a frop infested Dokstok neither world
In Arkansas
I searched the world for my personal savior
I found him nowhere, I should have looked there first

"Bob" is a rock
He's a tree
He is you
He is me
