Awash in a sea of Normals

Is anybody else awash in a sea of Normals? Does anybody else
work in an office where _nobody_ knows about "Bob," and where
_nobody_ understands, "I never could get the hang of Thursdays"
and _nobody_ knows what you're talking about when you tell them,
"We've found a witch. May we burn her?" Has _everybody_ been
replaced by pods?

From where I sit, referring to or quoting from either of the two
works you're quoting from should be punishable by
motor-oil-and-feathering. Well, maybe just motor oil for the second one.

Thus, I consider the omission of such to be infinitely desirable in a co-worker.

However, the "not understanding" part is right out.

There's a Lick-n-Stick right above the fax machine in my Pink
office. Spells out the way to salvation, gives the address and
everything. In three years, no one's even taken it down, so completely
oblivious are the pink sheep (hmmm, sweater idea) in this cube farm.

I defend my cube with my cuddly Buttercup doll. When lusers annoy me, she
shoots green laser beams out her eyes and incinerates them. But they're all
Sausage Factory drones, so if you killed them they'd hardly notice and just
think it was another slight economic downturn. I also papered my cube with
pictures of sxxy deth chyx. Which are always decorative even when they're
crap. Furthermore, I haven't shown up at work since late October and I'm
currently posting nude from bed on the work laptop while playing MP3s off
the household server, and they're STILL paying me. Stress leave would be
REALLY COOL if not for the anxiety and depression. At least it gives me
that Bad Boy Charm that seems to be getting the chyx like crazy. Life has
its crap bits but it has its good bits.

I go to the dentist on Friday.
