No, not on SpaceShip One. It's kind of complicated, I know. Here's the
short version:
The rich folks are signing up left and right for a ride on the VSS
Enterprise, a ship being built by Virgin Galactic (part of Richard
Branson's Virgin empire).
SS1 was built by Burt Rutan's company Scaled Composites, with funding
from Paul Allen. Together the two formed Mojave Aerospace Ventures to
operate SS1, collect the X Prize, and pimp out their groundbreaking
technology to whoever can cut fat checks.
The connection between SS1 and the VSS Enterprise is that Virgin
Galactic and Mojave Aerospace/Scaled Composites have a licensing deal,
so Rutan is designing Virgin's ship.
Check out Virgin Galactic's website - the whole thing is more or less a
sales pitch for Enterprise flights. They've already got a staggering
$1.47 billion pledged, and they aren't even taking actual deposits until
"early next year."
I don't think finding the money to actually build the Enterprise will be
too much of a problem for Virgin.
