In keeping with my occasionally fruitful SlackQuest (tm), I have after many
years decided to devote some considerable resources and add a midi interface
to both my pipe organ and the player piano. This will allow the piano to be
played from and along with the pipe organ. The part that excites me the most
is being able to have the computer play both of these instruments (mostly
because I suck at playing). Also midi allows for music that one or even two
humans could not play. And, I think it would be great to offer others the
opportunity to create music for this. Who knows what noise you all could
come up with!
One of my hopes is that the organ and piano would be installed somewhere
"public", where people could hear other folks creations played out. Maybe
some kind art gallery would find this attractive.
Anyhow, the midi interface, switching system and pipe driver hardware (heh)
has already been ordered. Shipment and installation could take some time. It
may not be until December that it is all working.
Anyone in Cleveland who might have any ideas for a public or semi-public
installation location should say so here in the NG. I'll entertain any other
creative suggestions, too.

Are all those pipe pedals hooked up to the midi?
What MIDI software will you be recording to?

Getting ANYTHING or ANYONE into that place is harder that fucking a mouse.
(gee that was harsh. sorry R.H. folks. I actually like the place.)
Actually, I don't think it's 'rock' enough. It might work if it was in John
Lennon's living room, but it needs something a little less 'commercial.'

There once was a foul old louse
who said when caught buggering a mouse:
"though its cunt is quite tiny,
on occasion its hiney
will stretch just as big as a house."
