Kids' puppet calls for massacre

I don't know what you're talking about.
I've never met you before in my life.
That story sounds like utter bullshit.
I wasn't there and it wasn't me.
I am *not* in denial. Shut up.

I'm still trying to figure out the Worldwide
Muslim uprising. Admittedly, I haven't put too
much thought into it, but Thailand, Philippines,
Maylasia, all the Arab countries, all the -stan
countries, I know that something's happening,
but I don't know what it is, do I, Mr. Jones.

Our propaganda is better than their propaganda?

There are several important considerations:

1) Moslem history: see "The Ottomon Centuries"
by Lord Kinross, now available as a thick paperback.
It shows how Islam grew from a religion to a religious
based empire. This helps to understand the divide
between what is really part of their religion, and
what are secular add-ons. A lot of what is causing
problems today is reactionary nostalgia to go back
to the idealized days of empire, not really religious.
This also means that there are differences between
those Moslems who used to be part of the empire, and
those who never were, such as in SE Asia.

2) Moslem religion: as with Judaism, which has a
small Torah extrapolated into a huge Talmud, written
after the fact, Islam has the small, easy to read
Koran, but it also has a large equivalent to the
Talmud. Extra writings and interpretations by all
sorts of post-Mohammed Imams. But unlike the Talmud,
there is no standardized version, and as the various
factions of Islam schismed, each developed their own
ideas about what the Koran really meant. That is why
the Taliban version of Islam is so much stricter than
it is say in Jordan.

3) Moslem ethnic schisms: more than a Sunni/Shiite
split, the biggest divide in Islam is really based in
ethnicity. A good comparison would be of the European
descent white people in the US, as Shiites, vs. the
Hispanic peoples of Mexico, as Arabs. In that analogy,
Mexico would have ruled over the US, forcing us to be
Catholic, but then we split off and became Protestant.
People in the US would still be called Xtians, just
like the Shiites are called Moslems.
A lot of the fighting in the Moslem world is between
these two factions, which is just as bloody as the
"Moslems vs. everybody else" fight.

4) Seculars: one of the quietest and most dangerous
group of "Moslems" are the "secular" Moslems. They
cannot foreswear Islam or call themselves atheists,
under threat of death, but they are just that. For
the most part they are like Baathists, and very bloody
minded. They bring in other factors to motivate the
"Moslems" to fight, such as nationalism and socialism.

But what the US and others are fighting right now is
a combination of these things, not a unified front.
And with so many motivations, there has to be an equal
number of countermeasures to neutralize them, from
trying to establish democracy to armed conflict.

You mean sort of like...how the Cat-o-lick blue collar Irish and
Italian working class city dweller bible is 'different' from the English
'My ancestors came here on the Mayflower' Presbeterian Upper-
Middle class Suburbanite bible..?

I just want to be sure on this point.

(not to be confused with the Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson $79.95
"love gift" study bible - the ones that are 5" thick with Amerikkkan
flags on the cover - or the ones usually for sale at the local xian book
store that's run by those sweet, short stature blue-haired old ladies
who can bite your head off at the neck in one single bite if you
aggrivate them)

Darsh it nu-monet! You just answered my question in
your paragraph above, sort of, while
didn't bother to look and I was busy typing away
in a pique, sittting...waiting...for the half-a-box of pitted prunes
I ate an hour ago to -take effect- and wash out the last vestiges of
Egg FooYoung Calico and Springer Rolls from my middle intestines.....

(gurgle---groooowllll----urp--phfblttttttt etc...etc...)
