ITS organisers say the experience will leave club-goers
begging for more.
But the establishment of a new fortnightly porn-themed
club event in the Capital has sparked a chorus of
disapproval from women’s groups and city councillors.
The night, dubbed the Pornaoke Lounge, was launched at
Club Ego on Picardy Place earlier in the month by Capital-
based film production company Capture Entertainment.
Modelled on a concept from Japan, the club encourages
members of the public to add their own sound effects to
silent clips of sex scenes.
However, critics claim the evening will only reinforce the
impression held by some that Edinburgh, with its saunas
and lapdancing joints, is becoming Scotland’s capital of
sleaze.
While several similar evenings have already been established
south of the Border, the new Edinburgh night is the first
pornaoke club in Scotland...
