If only it were that easy.

At the kids' school they've been preparing for their election of the
new school mascot. This happens every four years.

The choices this year were panther, lion, panda or saber tooth tiger.

The kindergartners campaigned as the Lion party.

The panther won.

Wouldnt it be nice if we were just choosing a mascot type president,
you know, like Reagan. Just an affable dignitary without a brain in
his head who simply presides over diplomatic functions and the like.

Or maybe even an ethical dignitary like, Jimmy Carter.

Or even a sex crazed dignitary with an idealistic wife, like Clinton.

The warmongering son of the ex head of the CIA makes me NOSTALGIAC for
the Meese report and the pissing dribble of trickle down
Reaganonomics. Oh Gipper! Forgive me for ever calling you a puppet!
puppets are good, puppets are benign, puppets are simpletons who are
easily swayed by all and therefore the most democratic of statesmen.

mascot puppets. Elephant or Donkey? Trouble is, you don't know until
they're in office whether they're the benign airhead we need as
commander in chief.
