Interesting.
I was speculating on a Kerry win, not by virtue of mass revulsion a la
Anyone-But-Bush, but simply because 1) Bush seemed to have become a
liability 2) you need a Democrat in the White House to preside over
economic collapse (or at least a severe recession) and 3) keeping
Hillary Clinton out in 2008 was more important than "retaining" the
White House. This forecast was based on a fixed election, since it's
apparent that Bush is VERY popular and would win in a fair fight.
So, am I attributing too much to these "folks" or is there another
program playing out here that I'm not aware of?
A lumbering collosus with no one at the wheel is in many ways more
frightening that any conspiracy you can conjure up. The later still
has to take account of certain realities, whereas the former can run
right off a cliff without even noticing.
I see the US dollar is selling off big-time. If this keeps up, oil
will soon be priced in Loonies.
