These suckers hovered over Penis for several hours.
The consensus was that it was a military aircraft
and the pilot had stripped the transmission or
something and was waiting for the AAA. However,
it now seems that they make a habit of it.

Eyewitnesses all over the country are reporting
glimpses of something large, dark and mysterious
in the skies above big cities and busy highways.
The crafts are often described as triangular in
shape, silent in their movements, and of unknown
origin, and they've been seen here in southern
Nevada. It looks like these mystery craft might
be a secret military project, but if so, why are
they flying around in the open?...

I was just reading the Fark thread on this and someone did mention a
rather telling point: with today's increased ownship of affordable
digital cameras, camera phones and other video equipment, it's odd how
there's very little photographic evidence of these triangles.

Yeah, it's highly unlikely that shit like this
exists.

Very little that's been released anyway. Personally, if I shot film of
those things, I wouldn't tell anybody. All that does is make you a
person of interest, and who needs that?

Besides, what would a picture reveal? That these things are here? We
know that already. I'm waiting for the day when the sky's so full of
them you can't possibly ignore it anymore. Maybe then you'll see it on
CNN, but I doubt it.

...and exactly how believable would YOU consider a digital document to be

You above all should realize that 'proof from a camera phone' is prolly just

I continue to encounter explanations of such sightings as being caused
by flocks of geese with luminous dust on their bellies. I am wondering
how many times THAT phenomenon has been documented.

As with gas-filled fundies and goddamned hippies tripping off into the
sky with a head full of lie-surge, the geese are often sucked into jet
intakes and shredded into teensy little chunks of goo, leaving no ready
evidence. This is often why on otherwise pleasant fall evenings, when
you are sitting on your porch, you get an unexpected whiff of bowel
whose source is not your own butt.

Actually I saw one of these things with two friends about 7 months ago but
it was going way too fast to photograph, unless you had the camera in your
hand and it was capable of low-light pictures at short exposures. I think we
saw it for about 7 or 8 seconds. It flew over our little Northern Colorado
town heading the in direction of Colorado Springs.

We were sitting outside on the balcony of my friend's apartment on the 9th
floor and it was a very clear night. Someone said "that's a weird-looking
jet" and then this black triangular thing wooshed past extremely quickly. I
say "wooshed", but that implies noise.

There were three noticably odd things about it about it. One was its its
triangular aspect which wasn't caused by foreshortening due to banking - the
plane was traveling in a straight line. Another was the bank of seven or so
surprisingly bright lights to the front of the plane in the shape of a V,
with the apex in the direction of travel. The third was the fact that it was
travelling apparently silently even though the night was very still and
sound carried well, and it seemed to be moving very fast - fighter jet
speed.

A day later I heard a mention on local radio about the first ever
international NATO exercise up at Colorado Springs, and presumed it had
something to do with that. I didn't get any sense of the unearthly about the
aircraft - were I to have been scoring the scene I expect thrash metal
guitars would have been more appropriate than a theramin.

The only part I don't get is why they would switch on all those lights and
then fly low over a populated area. It really drew attention when as
alternatively it could have zipped overhead in darkness and we probably
wouldn't have known it was there.

Still, it was a very cool thing to see and a pleasant reminder that a first
hand experience with the mysterious is still possible, even in the mid-West.

Are F-117A Nighthawks and/or B-2 Spirits THAT quiet? Does anyone know?
Hopeless diamonds and flying wings can have really weird aspects from
certain angles.

There's a human being behind the stick, and humans make mistakes. Maybe
Pilot Trainee Johnson left the lights on by mistake.

Sweet. It's good to know that the Pentagon's budget isn't wasted.

They should be showing these things off. We paid enough for them and I want
to see what I'm getting for my money. I'd be slightly mollified next time I
paid my taxes if I knew I'd funded a couple of licks of radar absorptive
paint on some sleek black slab that can hang noiselessly in the air.

Yep. Definitely saw a B-2 fly directly overhead one evening some years
ago. Maybe 1000 feet up, mybe less. No sound whatsoever.

They're looking for a place that can make a decent chicken-fried steak.
Its a grail worthy of Diogenes.

BTW, my girlfriend is a lovely sucker who can also hover over penis for
