The Real Meaning of Slack

Slack is the length of time the start of an activity can be delayed
without delaying the start of a successor activity. Total Slack is the
length of time along a given network path that the actual start and
finish of activity(s) can be delayed without delaying the project
completion date. Project Slack is the length of time between the
Contractor's Early Completion (or Substantial Completion) and the
Contract Completion Date.
I didn't just invent this. It is not a debatable point. If your idea
is different from this, your idea is wrong.
