Confused by a Blog

I just don't get this BLOG thing. With all due respect to Nu-Monet, it
confuses the fsck out of me. I think it has too many levels. I can't seem
to get it to put all the articles AND comments together inline so I can
approach them the only way my pre-Alzheimer's CPU will accept...reverse
chronology. Plus I'm confused about how to upload pichers and things. And
what's the difference between MY blog and the Subgenius one, etc. I'd
publish something but...I don't know if I'm publishing just my thingie or
the entire BLOG universe?
Also, it's kinda distracting cuz you can't keep yer eye on TWO sources of
SubGenius musings at once. Primarly I keep alt.slack up all day long. I
kinda fergit about the Blog and, while I'm grumbling here, IRC. Oh, I
suppose I could keep all three hanging around on my desktop but
then...there's only one keyboard and mouse around to control all that.
This is prolly MY problem. Having achieved the double nickel in age,
dammit, I guess I have to admit I'm GETTING Oxx! (See I can't say the
word). SET in my ways.
I have a cell phone but not a picture phone (screens too small to read). A
big screen TV but not a plasma. A DVD recorder but not a DVR. And not a
single neck dangling MP3 player of any sort, though I must admit I grabbed
on to XM radio the minute it became available.
And I don't seem to be able to get any more current than THAT. Which means,
by the time I (or should I say IF I) reach 70, I'm going to seem downright
QUAINT. Shit, my LAPTOP is now almost 5 years old and still useful to me!
Oh, the other thing that made me recoil about the BLOG thing is the use of
the little triangles > and V as navigational devices. This reminds me of
LOTUS NOTES! I left that accursed software behind two months ago! I nearly
DRY HEAVED when I saw them. Maybe that's what got me so upset.
I would rather fish juicy turds out of Michael Jackson's skinny ass with a
straw than EVER see that turdy piece of software again!
Fuck getting old.

Yup. Kinda what I was thinking. Its like these blogs
are trying to re-invent usenet, and are not doing a
very good job of it.
The only benefit is that the articles don't expire.
Or do they?

I agree! Ten-Four good buddie!! The thing I was
always thinking about is why is it called a
BLOG?? Maybe like a BAD LOG?? Well you
all probably think I'm an idiot because there
is a simple reason for it!! Praise "Bob's" Log!!

The benefits to personal blogging is you can work through some crazier
moments so you don't get all "issuey" in a public forum. Put that
stuff in the blog.

Ever been to Utah? Ra-di-ation. Yes, indeed. You hear the most
outrageous lies about it. Half-baked goggle-box do-gooders telling
everybody it's bad for you. Pernicious nonsense! Everybody could stand
a hundred chest X-rays a year. They ought to have them, too.

First you crawl
And then you walk
Pretty soon you start to talk
Eventually you start to stoop
Getting old is pigeon poop

Very simple. It is free advertising space for the
Church.
Optimally, it should be like a big arrow, pointing
to SubSite and maybe even the Scatalog.
Many, many individuals have never heard of, or are
frightened by USENET. But blogs are so webpage-like
and un-complicated that they are lured in, with a
sense of complacency, just like the little girl in
the movie Frankenstein.
Except that in this case, Frankenstein intends to
rape and kill the little girl.
