I'm so far gone that I'm now downloading the Mac OS X DEVELOPMENT TOOLS
from Apple. Fuuuuuuck.

Wei and I had our "Slack Off from Slacking Day" on Friday. She was off
work and we literally laid in bed all day long watching movies. But
then she had to go help her mom move, and I have been in intense
geeksmanship since then. I mosied over to the Binaries Pond, fishing
for video making programs, and had a huge catch, but of course, with
the fish jumping like that, the kleptomania set in, so I ended up with
over a dozen completely new progs of all kinds. So I've been installing
and trying everything. Found the weirdest art prog, called Z-Brush,
which "paints" using virtual GLOPS of 3D color.

The overall goal is to get the fucking 5XDay stuff off my drives so I
can do ARISE for DVD. But I keep finding new formats to convert the
video to before I erase it. Currently it's SVCD, the bastard format. No
Mac store-bought prog converts to that, at least I haven't been able to
make Toast 6 do it right, so I've had to learn a lot of open source
stuff. Which is actually kind of fun. But these conversions take for
fucking EVER, so in the meantime one must stay busy... Slacking.
Yesterday I finished a whole nother Hour of Slack -- a Priest-AlterBoy
Sodomy Special -- and got halfway through a new XXX-rated Internet-Only
show. Only when the Princess gets home will I stop geeking and go back
to Primate Mode.

Damn, there's still another 100 mb to go on that Development Tools
download. Apparently "MissingMPEGTools" needs something in there in
order to convert the soundtrack to Bastard Chinese Hacker Format.

Still, it beats the living shit out of conforming 16mm film negative in
checkerboard A-B rolls using film cement, rewinds and a million cores
in a Clean-Room, and then waiting a week for the lab to make a $1,000
color print filled with errors.

You kids don't know how good you got it. Me and Ray Harryhausen had to
carve our own skeletons out of wood, and animate them using
telekinesis, UNDER THE HOT SUN, for $2.50 an HOUR. We didn't have us no
FANCY VIDEO ANIMATION PROGRAM with a "MAKE SKELETON SWORD-FIGHT"
BUTTON, back in them days.

Wow, dude, I'm impressed. Hey, the proggie that came with my windoze
DVD burner does SVCDs real well. In fact the first thing I happened to
burn was one, by accident. The APEX player couldn't play it, so I
thought. It kept asking for PBC PBC PBC.

I could see the menu but couldn't get it to play anything. DUH! PBC
stands for something like PUSH BUTTON CONTROL. All I hadda do was push
the number of the chapter I wanted to see. Couldn't use PLAY or NEXT or
anything else.

Natch what's easy in the winders world is next to impossible in Mac
land, I suppose.

Me, I got to go west and sing the Oyeh! song some more. A few more
hours well spent unburdening myself of a ton of crap I don't need.

I'll try to surface again next Saturday to pick up the Cowboy's parts.
Sadly, that's my next FREE night. Oh I pine for the days when all
future nights will be FREE.

Next Friday I get inducted into the inner circle of Pink Hell Club, the
25 year club. Yes, 25 years under the same overseer's jackboot heel.
I'll get to meet all the other distinguished (read: surviving) members,
and then they will initiate me.

Hope the ceremony does not involve teabagging...

Yeah, I started out playing an ACCOUSTIC guitar, with MY FINGERS! They'd get
blisters and hurt like hell. Then I bought an ELECTRIC guitar! Now it's all
downhill.
