how to waste your life...
First, get a job. You cannot even begin to be considered
a waste
without a job. Bonus points if your job is a "career"
and even more
bonus points if you consider yourself a "professional".
Employment is
the thing. You cannot impede the advancement of civilization
or burden
the universe in any way until you have a job. Forget
about all that
"quit your job/slack off" nonsense... if you
really want to do some
damage you must have a job.

Nonsense. A single private who fires a bullet
accomplishes far less than the manufacturer of
bullets.
Likewise, a single person who Slacks off can
disable a multi-billion dollar a year corporation,
overthrow a government or possibly even cause the
destruction of all human life on this planet.
You see, THE SYSTEM is a closed system. It
cannot comprehend or deal with deviation outside
of THE SYSTEM. Like the twisted, robotic hive
mind that it is, a non-sequitor can cause system
failure and smoke pouring out of the ears of
Norman. Or the Normal-Men who make up THE SYSTEM.
A SubGenius most probably does not know how his
Slack does this. Nor does he know where his Slack
comes from, how to get more of it, how to use it,
how to waste it, or most anything at all about it
other than HE MUST HAVE IT.
But Slack does its thing, by its rules and in its
own time and the smoke pours out of Norman's ears
holes.
And no "job" is required at all in the process.
It is as incidental to what Slack is and does as
are the three thousand Eskimo words for snow to the
paintings of Picasso's dentist.
We don' need no steenking job!

Just what they want you to think! They've got a number
for that too.

...A private is a person with a job. A manufacturer
of bullets is a
person with a job. Both are utter wastes of life.

... I'm talking about wasting your life. WASTING IT.
THROWING IT AWAY.
The most efficient way to do this is to have a job.

You missed my point entirely. The single best way to
waste your life
is to be PART OF THE SYSTEM. That requires employment.
It's not a
closed system... all we had to do was ask and they gave
you and me
jobs. And if we fuck those up... hell, they'll give
us another. It's
been my experience that the MORE you fuck up, the more
jobs you'll
get.

So a subgenius could get slack from his/her "career".
That's SICK!!
It is worse than sick, it is EVIL!!!!!!!

That's a funny line, but you have a job.
