This is a subject that comes up over and over again whenever a moderately-sized group of SubGenii come together. What usually happens is that some SubGenius starts complaining about something, then the others spew out advice like unstoppable juggernauts of smart-assedness, until the first one starts shouting "Stop telling me what to do!"
Most SubGeniuses really enjoy telling others what to do, but hate being told what to do themselves. I have looked and looked through the Holy Scriptures, and nowhere have I found anything that says "All SubGeniuses can say whatever they want... as long as it isn't telling other people what to do!" So I think we are just stuck with it.
The important thing is that although others may have the right to tell You what to do, as they have the right to say anything else, and although it is beyond impossible to try to get them to stop doing it, you DON'T have to actually DO what they say!
I think the best way to deal with it is for all of us to view each other with the amused tolerance of a grown man watching a litter of kittens tumble over each other. We should take each other's advice with a smile, and then go on and do what we had aimed to do from the start, without getting bent out of shape that someone has dared to question our infallible wills.

Subject: Re: By Request: "Telling Other People What to Do" aka that puppy rant from 2001 (No actual puppies involved)

Oh you can TELL 'em. But if you want them to obey you'll
need an
electroshock mat.

My brain overheated after reading that.
Wookit the fuzzy widdle kittens.
I think it's more like a couple of rabid possums duking
it out than like
playful baby kittens.
