So I'm watching this flic titled "The New Age"
about a Southern California super-yuppie couple with great jobs but no
center to their lives. When they both lose their jobs and begin marital
infidelities, their solution is to start their own business together. In
order to find meaning to their empty lives, they follow various New Age
gurus and other such groups. Eventually, they hit rock bottom and Peter
gets a job in a boiler room selling some bullshit, but uses the persona
over the phone of one, Bob Dobbs.

Who's the SubG in this produkshun?

Inquiring minds wanna know.

Seems like that would be the writer/director Michael Tolkin.
http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0866062/

Credits include writing for the sitcom Taxi, Altman's film The Player,
and The Rapture, one of my favorite religious movies.

Michael Tolkin became a dues-paying SubGenius Minister way long ago,
before he did The Rapture, I believe. He has never contacted us except
for that Membership purchase, however.

And that's what really COUNTS. It would be nice for him to get
involved and make that SubGenius Hollywood Movie you old-timers have
been wistfully mentioning, but at least he sent in his $20.
