We finally got around to watching "Bubba Ho-Tep,"
the bulldada movie
based with great faithfulness on the short story by
the great Joe
Lansdale. For those unfamiliar with this classic, it's
about the veeble
but brave residents of an East Texas rest home who must
battle an evil
resurrected Egyptian mummy that sucks souls from the
assholes of the
dying. The two main feeble rest home protagonists are
Elvis Presley and
JFK, or people who think they are Elvis and JFK, except,
it really is
Elvis.
I got all weepy at the end.
Rev. Bruce Campbell has made us proud! Truly, he is
the King of Kings
Mistaken Permanently For King Imitators After Swapping
Places with One
To Get Away From It All For A While.
A highly recommended download! I hear that some movies
are also made
available for sale or rental in shops, and this may
well be one of
those.

Good to know. I went and saw this one alone at the local
art theater,
since that's right around the time Rev. BobWild got
injured. He needs
to see it.
Bruce Campbell is a goddamn genius.

I went all the way from Phoenix to LA to see this movie
and boy was i
glad I did. Bruce channels Elvis - it's amazing. I love
that crowd
reaction where they are thinking "Ewww, so gross"
and they don't wanna
laugh, but they have to. That is my favorite thing about
Joe Lansdale.
Cheers,

> Hehe! Yep! Ya gotta love anal soul-sucking undead!
(a little nervously) this isn't recent church dogma, is it?
