"The Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating
this regrettable mistake
to determine why required safeguards were neglected,"
...
Just think, with more experienced LEOs being de facto
drafted back into
indefinite service for the American Empire, US citizens
are going to be
dealing with even more roving gangs of "task forces,"
made up of these
inexperienced, twitchy, violence-saturated individuals.
They have grown
up in an age where people concerned about their "rights"
are liberal
pansies who are every bit as undesirable as drug pushers
themselves. So
is anybody surprised when this happens anymore?
Thanks, Rush.

Ah, the New York Post, that bastion of journalistic

They do this all the time here in Nuevo York... usually
because the cops get
the addresses wrong (as they did in this case).
See, most of our cops live in little towns in Long Island,
Westchester or New
Jersey (the city's just too skeeeery) and these dang
addresses just confuse the
hell out of 'em. It's easy to confuse 605 WEST 109th
St, Apt. 14J with 605 EAST
109th St., Apt 14K.
That's why 10% of the NYC Police Dept.'s budget goes
to settle civilian
complants and lawsuits against the department.

That and the assumption the said cops can read.
The Smoking Gun had a exhibit up last week about a family
in San Deigo, CA
whose house was raided by a Drug task force Swat team
due to thei their having
a electric bill that was 25% to 35% higher then their
neightbors.
After they kicked down the door and cuffed Mon, Dad
& and the kids. All they
found was a Jacuzzi, a Dish Washer, and a electirc water
heater.
Seems the family Mom had a thig about dirty dished so
she ran the Dishwasher
twice a day , three tiems on weekends.
Opps! Sorry!

You're going to see more of this in the days ahead,
only it won't be
drug cops, it will be the Utility Police. Power rationing
is just
around the corner my friends.

Before we run into that problem, which is a few years
out, we'll have
electricity rationing due to lack of capacity. The
US electric grid is
a rusting antiquated hulk, most of it built in the 1930's.
No major
power plants have been constructed in the last 25 years.
The plan was
to use smaller gas fired turbines to make up the shortfall
(which gets
the NIMBY's off your back if you're a politician) but
NG is getting
expensive. It's also used to heat buildings, which
is in direct
competition with electricity production.
I was around in the 70's when Nixon lowered the White
House thermostats
from 72 to 68, and encouraged everyone to do likewise.
The speed limit
was also lowered from 65 to 55. It was a time when
you couldn't buy
gas on odd numbered days if you had even numbered tags,
and vice-versa.
I think we'll see those days again fairly soon, only
this time around
enforcment will be a lot tougher. It will have to
be. America has
backed itself into a corner with mega-trucks and gas
sucking SUV's, not
to mention poorly constructed plywood mansions twice
the size that
anyone needs. Then there's electronic gadgets, "labor
saving" devices,
and the real grid-killers: air conditioning and electric
fans. All it
will take is one long hot summer followed by a major
ice storm like we
had in Quebec, and it's game over.
On the bright side, there's money to be made! There
always is in a
crisis. Once the hue and cry is out, gas producers,
coal mines and
electric utilities will go on a tear. GE will look
like a dot-com and
anyone building windmills, solar cells, fuel-cells etc,
will get taken
out at a premium by the energy giants, whose stock will
also soar.
The so-called pure plays in superconduction and cold-fusion
will come
back to life. Hell, it might even blow some air into
the steel
industry! (Cleveland Ohio- City of the Future!)
So, stuff THAT in your IRA and 401K my friends. A gold
mine or two
wouldn't hurt either, just in case.

PS. You software bobbies should check out companies
writing code for
electricity management. That's where your future bread
and butter
lies, not designing web pages for penniless start-ups.
Work diligently to exceed the plan, comrades!
