Welp. Was good Subgeniusing with all ya. I'm glad that
I at least got to
know the TRUTH before the final end. There's some comfort
in that. I may
return one last time to alt.slack before 7am, but, I
may not.
If by any chance you survive the upheaval, we should
try to get in touch.
After the main communication systems are dismantled,
and I'm still alive,
I'll be transmitting a beacon at 17705 kHz. That is,
if the electromagnetic
waves aren't jammed. I would suggest you make your way
north, towards James
Bay, let's say Moosonsee. There are airstrips and rails
up there. We might
have the chance to rebuild, and escape hell.
Tootles!

Radio. How quaint.
CLUE: The sense of Balance is the SIXTH SENSE. Gravitational
fluctuations can be used as an extremely low frequency
carrier wave.
Work the rest out for yourself.

You say that as if it were a problem...
Why do SETI researchers seem to assume that the proper
direction to
point their antennae is outward?

Because if there's any higher intelligent life on this
planet that's
gone undiscovered by us thus far (and that's an extremely
dubious
proposition, far less likely than even the most conservative
loading of
variables into the Drake equation), it seems almost
certain that it has
the capability to remain undiscovered as it chooses.
The only way we're
likely to become aware of it is if it decides to reveal
itself to us.
SETI funds are extremely limited, and looking outward
is the most
efficient use of them.
Or was this another of those cases where people ask
questions but don't
want real answers?
