I can't accomodate EVERYBODY. The goal was to squeeze as much of my
material onto the discs as possible, and keep it affordable. Not to
mention making it as quick and simple for Aaron and me as humanly
possible. I'm doing this for my fans, I OBVIOUSLY stand to make very
little money from this (especially considering the labor and
inconvenience of making these and sending them out in the first
place), and my primary interests now are my painting and ZATO ICHI.
Other than continuing to torment ALL THAT IS NORMAL AND BLAND, I'm
interested in very little else. For all of my complaining, I actually
ENJOY LIFE and try to have as much fun as possible every day. I also
enjoy the CHALLENGE of overcoming obstacles. When the waters of a
river encounter a big rock, the waters don't panic--they simply flow
around the rock, eroding the rock away, little by little. Some of the
music on this new cdr set is PLUM AWFUL, LOW BUDGET AND POORLY
EXECUTED--but much of it is extraordinary, created and performed by
superb musicians who WORKED AND REHEARSED AND RECORDED FOR FREE FOR
MANY YEARS to bring this to you. Unlike Frank and Don, I had NO
industry support (SST merely exploited me and ripped me off
financially), and miniscule budgets to work with. Most of my albums
were recorded in ONE DAY and mixed in ONE MORE DAY--I made the best of
what I had to work with. And when you hear songs like PUKE ISLAND
PARADISE, KASABA KABEZA, the SECRET MARINES ongoing saga, INTEGRITY,
BORN IN THE WRONG UNIVERSE and endless others, you'll find that the
payoff is there. I tried to create things that NOBODY else could even
imagine lest execute, and, as art will be, it can only be achieved by
experimentation and taking risks.

And you're right--after being on this planet for 49 years, I'm
convinced, more than ever, that I have NO IDEA what I'm talking about!
EVER. ABOUT ANYTHING.

Feel free to judge me and criticize me--maybe you'll learn something.
