The old Cherokee sat in his cabin, smoking his pipe, eyeing the two U.S.
Gov't officials sent to interview him. "Chief Dancing Bear" one G-man began,
"you have observed the white man for nearly 400 years now. You have seen his
wars, his industry, his problems as well as his progress." The Cherokee
nodded in the affirmative, the G-man continued, "Considering recent events,
in your opinion, where has the white man gone wrong?"
The Cherokee stared at the G-men for over a minute, then calmly replied,
"When the white man found this land, The Indians were in charge. No taxes,
no debt, plenty of buffalo, plenty of beaver, the women did all the work,
the medicine man gave his services for free. All Cherokee men had to do was
fish and hunt all day." Then he smiled and quietly added, "White man dumb
enough to think he could improve on a system like that?!?"

We might be able to improve on some of the traditional torture
techniques used by the Cherokee against their captured foes.

I like these sorts of jokes but, sadly, truth be told, the lifestyles
of the Native Americans (very much IN GENERAL mind you) held their fair
share of brutal war, raping, pillaging, "taxing," pollution, wanton
destruction of natural resources, etc. Like every human society. Some
tribes tended to be a lot meaner than other tribes. That movie DANCES
WITH WOLVES is the biggest load of horseshit ever, since they left out
all the mangling and torturing and mutilating. Those particular folks,
the Lakota, were calld the "Sioux" by the neighboring Blackfeet, an
insult based on their, to the Blackfeet, evil ways.

Technically, as Rev. Groovy G pointed out, you could say similar
wonderful things about the long gone but highly civilized ways of the
Old Confederate South, unless you happen to be including the viewpoints
of the slaves.

Someday people will say, "Ahhh, America in 2003 -- the good old days, a
utopia of freedom and Slack." That notion should CURDLE ONE'S BLOOD
and it's probably true.

Well, 2003 was certainly better than in 2005, under
President Falwell, and definitely better than in
2008 under the alien insect overlords. 2011 was
prolly better than 2003, though. The antichrist
sure cleaned up the place. Who would have thought
he would be a Libertarian?

Nobody EVER suspected that that "mark of the beast"
thing were just temporary hand stamps when you went
into sports venues and discos and shit, and you
could just wash them off after. But, he couldn't
last. The guy was just too liberal. That, and his
smoking cigarettes in public was a major faux pas.
