"The Day of the SubGenius" (award-winning short film by The Bolex
Brothers of England, based on The Brag of the SubGenius and X-Day) is
now on alt.binaries.slack as a fine MPEG, ready to burn as a VCD.

This 8 minute film was compressed to 70 MB large, and RARed and PARed
so that if big pieces of the download are missing, it should still
work.

Tasteless, indecent, disrespectful "comedy" from recent ESO Swamp
Radio, including the most inflamatory excerpts from last Thursday's
show with Dr. Legume and Ed Strange live in the studio. Lonesome Cowboy
Dave's anti-war stance and Stang's paranois blend with Legume's sadism
and Strange's cruelty into a horrible, ugly mix, punctuated by Princess
Wei's sweet laughter and Chaz's grossly inappropriate choices for
background music.

I think that's it for last night.

I have been converting the older SubG videos "SUBGENIUS INTERVIEWS,"
"PREDOBBS STANGFILMS" and the new "DOBBSFILM SHORTIES" to DVD -- ads
soon, once I pick cover art and iron the wrinkles out of the
duplication process -- and in so doing, have also been converting the
various shorts one by one into VCD-sized MPEGS, that is, smaller sizes
that can be duplicated REAL fast and REAL cheap on plain CDRs rather
than DVDs. Not nearly as technically slick as the DVDs but much easier
to make cheaply and sling around like frisbees.

In order to start posting this stuff like the Big Boys in
alt.binaries.movies etc., I learned how to do all the RAR and PAr
routines. On a Mac this took some research, since bootlegging software
is mostly non-proprietary and hacker-made, but also mostly made for
Winders.

With the "DAY OF THE SUBGENIUS" video upload is an INFO text file that
explains to newbies how to decode the RARs. (Once that's done, this
type of MPEG video should play on ANY video player on ANY operating
system, as well as on most new DVD players after being burned to CDR.)

Compressing high res video down to MPEG is time-consuming for the
computer so I have had to do them at the rate of one film per night
while I am In The Other Place. Last night was the first time I paused
in the editing and converting to upload a little of it.
