As a Mac user of almost 20 years... wait'll you try
to get your first
multitrack mixing programs up and running.
As far as I'm concerned it's 6 and a half dozen of the
other, twixt Mac
and Windows. Nowadays. Now that Windows runs exactly
like the pre-OS X
Macs. Except for that DOS shit underneath. I dunno about
THAT. That's
the underworld, to me. So far I have stayed out of there.
If it makes you feel any better, when Princess Wei upgraded
from her
old 7500 Mac to a donated, more powerful Mac Clone,
any monitor we
attached to it seemed stuck on 256 colors -- fine if
you want every
photo to look like that godawful "posterize"
mode on home video
cameras. I was able to locate an adapter that still
had the
instructions attached for which pin settings to use
for what
resolutions etc. In the end it was a matter of finding
the
instructions, to read them.
I would attribute Mister Sister's problems to sunspots, myself.
Every day that my shit still works, I count my blessings.
I also spend about one weekend a month doing nothing
but upkeep and
nerding out. But I depend totally on these machines.
My rent money
literally comes and goes through these pipes and they
must be kept lit
at all cost!

That's what Hoover blamed the stock market crash on
;-)!

...There's a contradiction in that sentence SOMEWHERE, I think.
You'll say that the 50's isn't the present, but we'll
have to differ on
that. -- RLan538885
