TONIGHT Friday April 26
7:30
I, Stang give "lecture," "rant,"
"q & a," whatever, at The South Shore
Skeptic's Club
Room 18
Life and Earth Science Bldg.
Baldwin Wallace College (on Front Street just North
of Bagley Rd - off
71 in Berea)
Free
I decided to call the lecture "Unbelievable Gullibility"
and I have no
idea what it will consist of. But if anybody can give
a skeptic
religion, it's "Bob".
I am tempted to tell them the stories of three special
people I have
met, one a street psycho, one a millionairre, and one
a government cop.
*****
I just suddenly wrote the whole lecture just now.
Here's my script
SKEPTICS - WON'T TRY TO CONVERT YOU BUT AT END YOU WILL BE CONVERTED
WHEN SKEPTICS DIE AND BECOME GHOSTS
'BOB' AND HIS SAYINGS
PULL WOOL - TOO MUCH --- ACT LIKE DUMBSHIT -- FUCK

INC. HUMOR
PUBLISHERS)
SECRET SERVICE in Dallas
'BOB'S' DEATH - VICTOR CANTU "Those people in Dallas
are gonna kill

WILL SMALL, THE HAWAIIAN JESUS
CLEVELAND POLICE AND DOBBS "GANGS," NEW JERSEY

Time Mag FRAUD OF THE CENTURY and WMMS Cleveland
Negativland's accidental hoaxes
THE PRESS AND FRAUDS -- YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO *TRY*
End with big rant-end saying, then Q&A
***
Well HELL, that was easy. And they even have a video
projector system
there, so if I wanted to show, say, the MTV-SubG spot
or even some
clips of X-Days...
Okay. Job's done. Now I can start looking forward to
the free pizza
they said would be there.
Already I'm falling behind on Hour of Slack again...
luckily, I have
whole shows by Susie the Floozy and also some Philo-Howll-Puzzling
Evidence shows... and Papa Joe's rant from hamburg...
for that matter I
COULD do the whole "Amsterdam show" that wasn't
done last year (I
didn't have tape of the rants until recently) -- or,
I could just send
out an old tape-show.... easy to do, but they'd be on
cassette... or,
maybe just 6 cool songs and 25 minutes of ESO Radio,
if I wanted to be
really lazy.
But what I REALLY need to do is update SubSITE, including
the X-Day
page and catalog, since I've had a whole new video finished
for 2
months now... BUT, I'm SO CLOSE to having those a.s.
texts all sorted
for the volunteers to start editing... AIEEEE.
And what of the NEW progs I MUST learn?!?!? And the
Calendar pics? And
the Chick essay? The 3 Fisted Tales and High Weirdness
reprint chores?
Fixing the mailing list? Finish recutting Media Barrage
5 and Bad
Doktors? Mail all those... OH SHIT!!! THE SWAG ORDERS!!
Since we got back from Indy, I've been in HEAVENLY GEEK
MODE. St. Marc
donated some old but VERY useful gear to us -- Huey
eschewed it, I gave
him first crack at it but he's holding out for fancier
stuff -- and I
have almost finished completely revising the old Power
Mac set-ups so
that Wei is fully multimedia-capable and I have a quicker
and surer
second office Mac, better for CD-making than it was.
Wei's eldest Mac
is now hooked up to a boom box as the World's Heaviest
CD and MP3
player. The Office PC that I got after Nickie's move
is gradually
becoming more useful as I acquire software for it. I
have not yet
networked the PC and the Macs but I know I will.
I got all the systems updated (to O.S. 8.6, as high
as the older Macs
will go really unless you buy a shitload more memory)...
which then
meant I could and should and did update a lot of the
workhorse
software.
This took a LONG time and I was working on one machine
on each floor of
the house, running from one to the other whenever one
was busy
rebooting or optimizing or whatnot.
I copped 4 MORE Stones and/or Zappa live bootleg CDs
while all this was
going on... one of which was a concert I attended at
age 18! And the
sound quality was GREAT! God damn I love binaries newsgroups
and a
cable modem. I even love RAR 3.0 and Ogg Vorbis even
though the Mac
decoders are wonky yet.
HEUNH!!
