I was downtown today when the Twins game was letting out and as I watched everyone in their sports garb wandering by I wondered to myself(as there was no one else to wonder to at the time). Why does anyone care about any pro sport? What is achieved by watching such a thing and why do people waste their time on such a pointless pursuit? Not one of them I asked could tell me, and I just can't figure it out.Thank you in advance for your enlightening reply.

America is too big for the concept of an 'American Tribe' to take hold in a concrete fashion, and the American rituals are not held very often; at the same time, family bonds have been weakened to the point that NOBODY lives with a group of their relatives.

So everybody is looking for a tribe to belong to, a tribe to have their rituals with, and for some people, sports serves as their tribe.

For some, it's science fiction films; they go to the opening show and see all their fellow fans, and are content.

For some it's a particular newsgroup, and they post there, and are replied to by their fellow groupies, and feel one with the tribe.

The ambitious, of course, simply clone multiple copies of themselves and take over small towns in Wyoming. They all wear masks during the day, so that they look different; but at night they streams through the houses and the streets, shoulder to shoulder and bare all over, naked under the stars and moon, and all alike, each to each.

Becuase, Americans Lover to see over paid jocks, who can barely sign their own names, play a game for spoiled rich team owners, in a park that the taxpayers built, to keep the franchise in town, to keep the minimum wage jobs in the concession stands, so they can tax the minumum wage workers, to make up for the tax breaks the team owner & players get, for not moving to the Sun Belt.

I heartily agree and I think it's high time the message was taken to the people. There HAS to be a way to put the humans on this planet on the path to personal enlightenment through self awareness. Perhaps if ONE PERSON took up the cause and if they had enough moxy, it could be done. Perhaps that person is ME! Sure! Why not? I'll get started right after I finish this beer.

IMO, pinks love sports because they have no sense of personal achievement, so they must get their satisfaction vicariously. Kinda like the guy who's always asking his buddies about their sex lives. Same reason pinks have school spirit, nationalism, and white/black/pink pride. When you can't do shit yourself - glom on to the biggest thing you can consider yourself a part of, and bask in the glory of "your" achievement. That is why I only belong to morally reprehensible groups like the Subgenius - I am actually very boring and not as evil as I want to be, so I can just say "Oh yeah? Well, I"M a Subgenius, and WE are thought of as weirdos, so quit making fun of my Dockers".

All these answers seem to apply and tend to support my previous opinion that the great majority of the population is rather defective.I imagine that's what happens when the weak are protected and encouraged to breed. I suppose I should really study these "humans" more closely though because if I know the motivation for their behavior it will be easier to separate them from their slack and of course their money.
