O.k. in that episode of the Simpsons when George Bush moves to
Springfield. Homer and Bart place life size cardboard cutouts of
George W and Jeb (badlly drawn) on George's porch and ring the
doorbell. The former President, thinking his sons have come to help
him in his neighborhood feud with the Simpsons opens the door and
greets the cutouts, which are then pulled away as Bart, hiding on the
roof, drops glue and and then a rainbow wig onto George's head.
George has no choice but to give his speech to the Springfield Elk's
Club on teenage alcoholism with multi-colored hair.
Why do I bring this up? I don't know really, except that episode,
which I saw tonight, seems to have
more poignancy and resonance over time....Little did Matt Groening
know...

Could be worse. In Frank Miller's new "Dark Knight" miniseries, the
President is revealed to be a computer-generated hologram. No one cares.
Incidentally, it's called "The Dark Knight Strikes Again," and it kicks
SERIOUS ass. Now available in fine comic shops near you.
