A few random thoughts:

1) He thought that drugs would eventually cause mankind to
evolve into angels. It reminded me of an old 'Playboy'
cartoon of two cops walking down the street, one of them
speaking, with the caption, "I smoked marijuana once, it
made me want to hurt and kill."

2) I wonder if his brain cancer was caused by his drug
use, or if it was caused by the visions he hallucinated,
that is, if the hallucinations *weren't* hallucinations.

3) He said that drugs should not be used by the immature
or people with mental illness. But since immaturity and
mental illness are, to a great extent, subjective...
Also, don't immature people often try to test themselves,
using drugs? And if a person is so mentally ill that he
shouldn't take drugs, is he in a position to make the
judgement that he shouldn't take drugs?

4) Since alcohol dramatically damages the judgement
center of the higher brain, should people who drink
be precluded from taking drugs? According to a study
of the U.S. Army, it takes at least six months for the
judgement center to heal after alcohol use has been
discontinued.
