Brushwood

Here's a little song for all you slackfux who
(much like Joni Mitchel) won't be at Brushwood.

Brushwood
==========

Well I damn near hit a son of Bob,
He was running across the road,
And I cursed "watch where you're going!"
But then he told me,
He said "I'm goin' down to Brushwood man,"
I'm gonna join in a Doktor band,
Gonna camp out on the land,
And die or get my Slack free...

We are Slackfux,
We're no tossers,
And we've got to get our butts,
Onto the saucers...

Then hop right in beside me,
I have come here to look for Bob,
But I feel sick as a dog,
My stomach's churning,
Well maybe it's that I'm just too frapped out,
Or maybe it's olestra chips,
Can you drive a standard shift?
Then let's get turning...

We are Slackfux,
Double crossers,
And we've got to get our butts,
Onto the saucers...

By the time we got to Brushwood,
We were several hundred strong,
And everywhere there was frop and fornication,
And I dreamed I saw the Xists,
Flying saucers through the mist,
Frying pinkboys to a crisp,
To our elation...

We are Slackfux,
Mental flossers,
And we've got to get our butts,
Onto the saucers...

That's a tough call. I'd like to, but there's some family stuff getting in
the way. Might be able to swing it, but it's a long shot at best.

Feel free. My singing voice is gone anyway, so all I could do is strum
along, unless you need backing synths and a heavy tekno bass line. Thought
not. Personally, my favorite rendering is the Tortelvis Dread Zeppelin
version. I like their Stairway cover too... Oh, and feel free to gussy it
up... there's a couple of lines I wasn't too happy with. "Tossers" for
example, might not be understood outside the Commonwealth... Might also
change "running" to staggering, or crawling. Seems more apropo.
