The "Canadian" Dobbs will be on the radio in the Vancouver, B.C. area
tomorrow, Friday afternoon at 3:30, Vancouver time. Dobbs will explain
the significance of X-Day and the events at Brushwood.
Yes, Dobbs was at Sherman, NY the whole weekend. He did not wish to
address his people en masse but chose to communicate on a one-to-one
basis. Since so much video was shot that he was in, it shouldn't be hard
to find him. One particular time Dobbs enjoyed was when he was standing
near Chris T from WFMU and G. Gordon Gordon as Stang denounced the
Canadian Dobbs to Chris.
As for Dobbs being mentally ill, his sanity has been certified recently in
academia when he spoke at the Banff School of Fine Arts on Dec.6,1997 at
the Flesh-Eating Technologies conference put on by Sylvere Lotringer (who
helped Dobbs by publishing some Church pamphlets in Semiotexte S.F. in the
late 80's).
In the audience at Banff for Dobbs' talk was Mark Dery, who originally
interviewed Stang for the New York Times in the early 90's and later
interviewed Dave Newfeld, who made Bob's Media Ecology, an album Legume
likes, for Stereo Musician (I think) in 1993. Dobbs and Mark flew back to
New York together where Dobbs lives. (Note, Terry Gibson- you do NOT live
near Dobbs.)
Then, on March 28, 1998, Dobbs spoke at Fordham University (Lincoln Center
campus for the McLuhan Symposium celebrating the 30th anniversary of
McLuhan's year at Fordham. Dobbs arranged for Mark Dery to speak at the
same symposium.
So we have Dobbs being recognized by academics as offering something for
their consideration.
Despite the joyful confusion expressed on alt.slack since X-Day, those
fortunate enough to hear the Vancouver interview tomorrow will experience
the necessary clarity for Dobbs' work to continue on a new level.

PS. Stang, when you see Paul Krassner at Brushwood, ask him about his
dialogues with Dobbs arranged by Gerry Fialka in April,1994, and published
in the Dec.95 and Feb.96 FLIPSIDES. His wife has played Bob's Media
Ecology on LA radio, she loves it.
PPS. Michael Townsend of Portland, Maine may soon broadcast
Dobbs'interview (22 min.) through a medium with Leary 5 months after Leary
died.

I must be getting famous! I have a FOR-REAL STALKER now! This is his third
time -- that I know of!
And we even asked over the loudspeakers if he was there in disguise, and if
he would please come up on stage to address his people.
If Dean really eavesdropped on me talking to Chris T, then he also heard me
sincerely tell Chris that nothing would make me happier than to let Bob
Dean face SubGeniuses AS "BOB" and speak to them. But... in his great
Slack, even though we gave him every opportunity, the Canadian Bob merely
lurked and denied us his essence.

Chris says Dean recently pester-called Chris's radio show like 20 times in
a row the other day... finally Chris spoke to Dean off the air and started
recording him, with his permission. Chris says he walked away from the
phone/recorder for 10 minutes and when he came back, Dean was still
blabbering away, never noticing that Chris had left. Apparently cold fusion
is one of the new bugs up Dean's ass. And he honestly believes that he is
"Bob" Dobbs. He is NOT just pulling an art prank. Everyone agrees, he
really is that fucked up.
Bob, I thought you were gonna cure AIDS on July 6. Oh, but I'll bet YOU
were just, uh, JOKING about THAT one, right? FUNNY joke.

You know what? I found a copy Flipside on the magazine rack at
Books-A-Million yesterday and there was a Bob Dobbs/Bob Dean ... THING ...
in it. It may have been intended to be serious post-modrun academic STUFF.
It was DEFINITELY content-null and ENTIRELY laff-free. You couldn't read
it, you could just look at it. It was rilly rilly awful.
Flipside as a whole looked pretty lame too. I didn't buy it.
