The Amino Acids will be the "headlining band" at 6X-Day!

http://www.theaminoacids.com

Einstein's Secret Orchestra will also be there of course, previewing
their new "rock opera" featuring actual rocks, also many sticks.

This probably doesn't do you much good to know, living somewhat further
from Brushwood, NY than I do. You're in the UK, right?... one of those
fairly large islands? But we'll hopefully get some good live recordings
of The Amino Acids.

I have often contemplated the fact that of all the rock and roll bands
whose members I know, ALL are the kinds of bands where the members
either wear wacky masks or have bizarre names or both. In this case, an
all-original "surf guitar" style band with no vocalizing, and all
wearing identical white crash-dummy masks.

I used their instrumentals as background music for a series of "all
purpose credit lines" which I keep handy for future use on HoS shows so
that I don't have to make separate tags saying, for instance, "collage
by Fernandinande LeMur" over and over and over.

Speaking of all which... I spent the last two days examining ALL of the
art from alt.binaries.slack from the last 6 months. Since the last "Art
Mine" post on SubSITE.

ALL of it.

ALL!! Well, all I kept, and I keep most.

I wasn't just looking just for yuks, either, I was CULLING it. Editing
it down for SubSITE. Moving certain items to either the "FILTH" adults
only section or else to the "out-takes" for my personal stash but not
SubSITE. Then looking at it all again to make sure the "order" is
right.

Then organizing the directories so that when I made the thumbnails,
none of the thumbnail pages had more than 30 or so pictures each. Plus
you have to twiddle the file names to remove blank spaces or odd
characters that fuck up in HTML or Unix land.

In the cases of IMBJR, Heart Ignition and LeMur, there are whole...
ENCYCLOPEDIA sized breakdowns that have to be done.

And of course I keep coming to art that cries out for specific use,
like, "Oh shit, that should be in the special X-Day stash" or "damn, I
left that out of the "Fuck This Shit" War Art section".

Anyway... I got them all thumbnailed. I have a handy shareware program,
Quicknailer, that does that. But I still have a ton of manual tweaking
to do and I must manually link each of the pages to the main Art Mines
page... (Cobblestone has been then re-tweaking my initially rather
bland and hurried indexes)

I haven't done the DEVIVALS photos nor a huge section of historic
photos and paper art that I scanned last year, but here's what's about
to be linked in and uploaded :

That's a lot of pages to manually link.

But GOD DAMN -- this shit is SO FUCKING GOOD!! I have been shuffling
SubGenius artwork for TWENTY ACTUAL YEARS and I am STILL UTTERLY
AWESTRUCK by how fucking god damn GREAT some of this stuff is!!! It is
eye-Slack to the Nth-billionth degree.

What I started out to say, Rev. Jarto, is that there's a really cool
Jarto section this time, I guess your first Art Mines tunnel. I left
out some of your cruder earlier stuff and the non-Dobbsian things but
it makes for a keen looking page of thumbnails, let me tell you.

Needless to say, each of the pages of thumbnails is a mind fuck.

So far this new load of Art is 160 MEGABYTES. Two Zip cartridges. Most
websites are only a few megabytes. This is JUST ONE "ONLINE STARK FIST"
ART SECTION.

Meanwhile here is the TEXT sections -- these are all auto-HTMLed
already but have had NO text editing done to them and I still have to
manually link them to the main new Fist page:

I am thinking I might post this text in very raw form to SubSITE --
there's far too much for me to think about trying to edit down myself
-- but also put links to downloadable zipped directories of the
original plain-text parts, SO THAT VOLUNTEERS CAN DOWNLOAD THOSE AND
REVISE THEM, and email them to me. I'm tired of personally emailing
stuff to would-be "helpers;" most of the time, nothing comes back. The
"Text Editing Instructions" file would go with the files. Then if
somebody really actually does want to help out, they don't even have to
ask me what needs to be done, they can just download whatever's still
there to download and revise. Also, if potential volunteers find
they've bitten off more than they can chew (like I did), or find that
"work for "Bob" is just as dull as work for The Man after all, only it
pays much less, it's not like they had promised me something and then
left me hanging.

However, before I do any of that shit, I think that Princess Wei and I
shall venture down to Cleveland's famous annual Hessler Street Fair and
Slack of, this fine Sunday. Slack must come first in the life of any
initiate.

Then I will get me to the manual linking. AFTER the Slack.
